Bombay Regional Business Directory 44°56′20″N 74°34′04″W
Bombay, NY was named by an Irish Ship Captain "Michael Hogan" in order of his wife's birthplace. The Town began in 1833 and was part of the Town of Fort Covington. An interesting historical note, the town was devastated by a plague of grasshoppers in 1877 which consumed half of the crops that year. Bombay is now a quiet community with the hamlets of Hogansburg, South Bombay, St. Regis, as well as hosting the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation.
