Beekmantown was formed from the Town of Plattsburgh in 1820's, and more was lost to Dannemora in 1854. Today Beekmantown's line are defined by Lake Champlain and Vermont and enjoys some beautiful parks (Point au Roche, St. Armond Beach, Treadway Bay, Monty's Bay Wildlife Management Area) and hamlets of Beartown, Beekmantown Corners, East Beekmantown, Gilroy Corners, Ingraham, Lawliss Corner and West Beekmantown.
